Police deny reports of Sidney Crosby arrest in Ottawa

OTTAWA – Police are denying the report that Sidney Crosby was arrested late Tuesday night in the nation’s capital.

QMI Agency reports the Pittsburgh Penguins centre was arrested by Ottawa police while driving a rented Porsche.

The reason was unknown, but the agency said it appeared to be driving related, and that he was taken to the police headquarters on Elgin Street.

All divisions of Ottawa police say they know nothing about the arrest of the Cole Harbour hockey hero.

“It’s an out and out blatant lie,” Ottawa police Sergeant Steven Hodgson told News 95.7, “As far as I know, somebody is pulling something here.”
