Halifax-born actor set to star in new TV show

By Matt Brand

There's a new Canadian TV show debuting Monday night.

Like The Littlest Hobo before it, this show features a dog that helps solve problems – and his human partner is played by a man from Halifax.

The show is called Hudson and Rex.

It stars a German Sheppard named Diesel Von Burgimwald who plays Rex, and John Reardon, who was born and raised in Halifax, plays detective Charlie Hudson.

Together they're crime-fighting partners in a show billed as an hour-long action-packed police procedural drama.

Reardon told NEWS 95.7 he lived in Halifax until he was 25, and visits often.

“I live on the West Coast now, but my family and I come back to Halifax usually about twice a year to see my family,” said Reardon.

Hudson and Rex is filmed and set in St. John's, Newfoundland.

The first of 16 episodes airs Monday night on CityTV.

CityTV is owned by Rogers Communications, a partner of HalifaxToday.ca.
