Mayor encourages #HandsFreeHalifax greetings

By Meghan Groff

Our mayor is encouraging #HandsFreeHalifax greetings to reduce physical contact while still being friendly.

As the number of COVID-19 cases continues to rise in Canada, Mike Savage says Haligonians can replace handshakes with other fun greetings.

In a video posted to Twitter, Savage suggests alternate methods, including the no-bump fist bump, the moose and an elbow tap.

“When you're careful about how you greet somebody, it's not because you don't care, it's because you do,” Savage says.
