Halifax man charged after police investigate weapons complaint

Halifax police have charged a man after looking into reports of a person seen in public with a firearm. 

In a release issued on Monday night, HRP said officers were on scene on Gerrish St. in Halifax responding to a weapons complaint. 

Two men were arrested at that time, police said. 

In an update early on Tuesday morning, police said a 44-year-old man from Halifax had been charged with weapons-related offences and a weapon had been recovered. 

The man is expected to appear in court on Tuesday.
