Mobile Unit to offer COVID-19 testing in Lower Sackville

By Chris Stoodley

Nova Scotia Public Health will be offering COVID-19 PCR testing in Lower Sackville this week through a Mobile Unit.

It'll be set up at the Royal Canadian Legion in Lower Sackville at 45 Sackville Cross Rd. on the following dates and times:

  • Monday, Nov. 29 from 10:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
  • Friday, Dec. 3 from 10:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
  • Monday, Dec. 6 from 10:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.

PCR tests will be free and available to people of all ages. The swish and gargle method will also be available for anyone aged 4 to 18.

Tests at this Mobile Unit will be available for people who are experiencing symptoms, asymptomatic, have been to a potential COVID-19 exposure site or are a close contact of someone who has tested positive.

People can either make appointments in advance on Nova Scotia Health's self-assessment tool or get a test by dropping in.

Nova Scotia Health reminds people that drop-in appointments are subject to availability; people should also bring their ID and health card if they have one.

It also reminds people that unless they have symptoms, they do not have to self-isolate while waiting for their test results (unless directed to do so by Public Health).

Other Mobile Unit testing locations can be found here.
