First-degree murder charge laid in Patrick Stay homicide investigation

Police say they have now charged a man in relation to the homicide of the well-known Dartmouth rapper that occurred earlier this month in Halifax.

Yesterday, Sept. 10, 2022, investigators arrested 31-year-old Adam Drake in Tantallon, Nova Scotia.

Drake is scheduled to appear in Halifax court on Monday, Sept. 12, 2022, to face a first-degree murder charge. 

At 12:35 a.m., on Sept. 4, 2022, officers located a man who had been fatally stabbed on Lower Water Street in Halifax.

The man was later identified as 36-year-old Patrick Wayne Stay.

The death was ruled a homicide by medical examiners. 

A celebration of life for Stay is happening on Sunday, Sept. 11, in downtown Dartmouth at multiple venues from 7 p.m. to Midnight.
