Rock and Roll Hall of Fame inductees The Doobie Brothers will make a long-awaited stop in Halifax this year.

As part of its 50th Anniversary Tour, the band will perform in Halifax for the first time in 40 years when they stop at Scotiabank Centre on Friday, October 13.

It will be followed by a show at the Avenir Centre in Moncton on Saturday, October 14.

This run follows previously announced performances in Australia, Japan, Singapore, and the U.S.

“Last year we got to play Toronto and London, Ontario and we’re excited to be able to make almost a dozen more stops in Canada in 2023,” said founding member Tom Johnston in a release.

Selling nearly 50 million albums worldwide, The Doobie Brothers have had five top-10 singles, 16 top-40 hits, three multi-platinum albums, seven platinum albums, 14 gold albums and own a rare diamond record for their 1976 album, Best of the Doobies.

Tickets for the Halifax show will go on sale Friday, March 17, at 10 a.m.
