Iconic Halifax rock act April Wine to receive Canada’s Walk of Fame honours

Legendary Halifax-based rockers April Wine are among thirteen acts being recognized on Canada’s Walk of Fame this fall.

Announced today, the band will be present in the first of two induction ceremonies this year as part of Canada’s Walk of Fame’s 25th anniversary celebrations.

Originating in Halifax in 1969, April Wine is best known for their infectious melodies and such radio hits as ‘Just Between You and Me’, ‘Roller’, ‘I Like to Rock’ and ‘Sign of the Gypsy Queen’.

With over 10 million albums sold around the globe, their extensive discography includes over 20 studio albums, which previously earned them an induction into the Canadian Music Industry Hall of Fame in 2009.

April Wine has also received the JUNO Lifetime Achievement Award and been inducted into the Canadian Music Hall of Fame.

The first-of-its-kind Canada’s Rock of Fame induction will take place at Massey Hall in Toronto on September 28.
