Northern mainland and parts of Cape Breton under Snow Squall Watch

HRM is expecting to see 10-15mm of rain on Tuesday, but if you are heading north and into Cape Breton, conditions will be much worse

Environment Canada has issued a snow squall watch for northern Colchester, Pictou, Antigonish, Guysborough and Inverness counties.

The national forecaster says the squalls will develop in those areas late Monday and into Tuesday morning, reducing visibility with heavy snow that will accumulate quickly.  Total snowfall amounts range from 10-20cm in the heaviest bands.

Environment Canada expects conditions to improve in those counties by Tuesday afternoon or evening.
