Educational assistant who worked in Ottawa & Nova Scotia charged with sex offences

By Kaitlin Lee

Ottawa police have charged an educational assistant with sexual assault in connection to incidents dating back two years.

Investigators say the alleged crimes happened in September 2022 while the suspect was working with the Ottawa-Carlton District School Board (OCDSB), and involved three boys under the age of 14.

Kevan Henshaw, 32, of Ottawa is charged with three counts of sexual assault, three counts of sexual interference with a person under 16 years, and one count of telecommunication with a person under 16 years.

Henshaw worked with youths in Ottawa and Nova Scotia.

Members of the Sexual Assault and Child Abuse (SACA) unit believe there could be more victims, and are asking members of the public to contact them if they have any information on this case.
