Rainfall and wind warnings issued as HRM deals with another February storm

It promises to be a nasty weather day today in HRM and across most of the Maritimes.

Environment Canada has issued rainfall and wind warnings for the region in advance of a storm expected to hit the area later in the day today.

The national forecaster says HRM can expect rainfall amounts anywhere from 30-50 mm or more, which may bring some localized flooding in low-lying areas.

As for the winds, most of the region can expect gusts as high as 90 km/h, but exposed areas along the coastline could see windspeeds even higher.

The bulk of the weather is expected to begin late today and last through noon tomorrow, with temperatures well above freezing.  Those temperatures are expected to drop rapidly on Thursday evening, which could cause slippery road conditions.
