Classes at Halifax West High School will be back to normal on Friday after police investigated a possible threat made against the school.
“After a thorough investigation into a potential threat, police have advised that there is no risk to students and staff at Halifax West High,” wrote HRCE’s Lindsey Bunin in a Thursday afternoon email. “School routines will resume tomorrow.”
Classes were cancelled at the Clayton Park school on Thursday after a possible threat was made on Wednesday. There was no detail as to the nature of the threat.
“It is important to note that in addition to any police consequences, anyone who endangers the well-being of others, damages property or significantly disrupts learning will receive immediate and appropriate consequences for their actions, as per the Provincial School Code of Conduct Policy,” Bunin wrote.
“We always encourage our students to say something if they see something and we are grateful to the individuals who brought this to the attention of our school-based leaders.”
