Investigation in Pictou County uncovers stash of illicit drugs

Three people are facing charges after a drug trafficking investigation in Pictou County.

The charges come after the Pictou County Integrated Street Crime Enforcement Unit (PCISCEU) along with help from the RCMP police dog services and Pictou County District RCMP executed a search of a residence on Gill Court in Pictou on July 25.

At the home, investigators found and seized substances believed to be fentanyl, methamphetamine (crystal form) and cocaine.

Officers also seized a quantity of cash, drug paraphernalia and a BB-style pellet gun made to look like an automatic weapon.

Jake Murphy, 33, of Pictou, Jessica Lindblad, 28, of Maclellan’s Brook, and Merissa Sutherland, 33, of Scotsburn, have each been charged with possession of cocaine for the purposes of trafficking, possession of fentanyl for the purposes of trafficking, possession of methamphetamine, and possession of property obtained by crime Under $5,000.

They were released on conditions pending scheduled court appearances in October.
