Halifax police look for suspect after man assaulted with sensory irritant

Regional police are investigating an incident where a man was sprayed with a sensory irritant in Bedford last week.

On Friday evening, officers responded to Lake Drive where they found a 65-year-old man who had been sprayed.

Police said the victim was treated at the scene for non-life-threatening injuries.

Police are now looking for a suspect is described as a white male youth, approximately 15 to 17 years old, and approximately 5’10” tall.

At the time of the incident, he was wearing all black clothing, a black hat, a black cross-body bag, and his face was covered.

The investigation is ongoing and anyone with information is asked to contact police or Crime Stoppers.
