RCMP say suspicious deaths in Cole Harbour were result of murder-suicide

The RCMP has confirmed the two suspicious deaths that took place in Cole Harbour this week were the result of a murder-suicide.

On Monday at roughly 9 a.m., Mounties were called to a home on Poplar Drive where they found the remains of a 72-year-old man and a 71-year-old woman, both of Cole Harbour. They both knew each other.

Through an investigation, RCMP has determined the woman was murdered while the man died as a result of self inflicted wounds.

Police said he was responsible for the woman’s death, adding the investigation shows this to be an incident of intimate partner violence.
