Power outages in Halifax and Dartmouth during Friday morning commute

A pair of Halifax Regional Municipality power outages impacted the morning commute on Friday.

According to Nova Scotia Power, about 1,600 customers were in the dark in the downtown area.

The website says the cause is due to a transmission interruption.

Halifax Transit reported that the outage impacted ferry service early Friday morning, but the service was restored by 7:30 a.m.

The second outage is in Dartmouth, in the Highfield Park area.

The cause of that interruption was not immediately known.
