A heat warning remains in effect for Halifax Regional Municipality again on Wednesday.
The national forecaster says we will see temperatures in the low 30s again today, which will feel warmer with the humidity factored in.
Allister Aalders, 95.7’s weather specialist, says HRM won’t escape the heat.
“Thirty-one or maybe even 32 C in the city itself today thanks to a northwest wind,” said Aalders. “Northwest-facing coastlines closer to 24 C for this afternoon, but humidex values between 30 and 35 C.”
Environment Canada is again reminding residents to stay hydrated and to watch for signs of heat exhaustion, which can include headache, nausea, dizziness, thirst, dark urine and intense fatigue.
The good news is that relief is on the way. Aalders said things will cool off later in the day.
“Tonight it will be partly cloudy but less humid, down to 12 C, and that really settles in for Thursday, only 21 C with a mix of sun and cloud.”
Aalders says the forecast remains a bit uncertain for the weekend, with a chance of showers both days and temperatures in the high teens.
