Heat warning continues for mainland N.S., expands across Atlantic Canada

Hot and sticky weather continues to dominate the forecast in Halifax and across much of the eastern provinces.

A heat warning from Environment Canada is in effect for the Nova Scotia mainland, all of P.E.I. and much of New Brunswick.

According to the national forecaster, areas under the warning in Nova Scotia will see daytime highs ranging from 29 to 33 C, with humidity making it “feel like” 36 to 38.

“This heat will be peaking on Wednesday, with the high 31 C for inland locations, feeling like 38, except near 29 or 30 in the city, and then 21 right along parts of the coast,” said CityNews weather specialist Allister Aalders. “It’s going to be those south-facing coastlines where you’ll find relief from the hot, humid weather.”

Aalders says the humidity is forecast to ease across Nova Scotia in time for the upcoming weekend.
