Heat warnings remain in effect for much of Nova Scotia as the province continues to swelter under another round of summer heat.
The warm and humid air mass that brought temperatures near 30 C on Monday is still in place, and another hot and humid day is expected July 29.
Unofficial numbers from Halifax Stanfield International Airport showed a high of 29 C on Monday. According to 95.7’s weather specialist Allister Aalders, temperatures will be similar Tuesday.
“Twenty-eight degrees is the high, will feel like 35 this afternoon, but on a southwest-facing coastline, 19 C is the high,” said Aalders. “Tonight will be partly cloudy with some fog re-developing, the temperature drops down to 17 C.”
The heat warning remains in effect for all areas of the province except Digby, Shelburne and Yarmouth counties. It is expected to remain in place for a third consecutive day on Wednesday.
Environment Canada says relief is on the way, with cooler temperatures expected to arrive Thursday as we head into the long weekend.
