Fire crews tackled blaze that spread from home to garage and two sheds

Multiple structures caught fire by the time Halifax crews were on scene in Three Fathom Harbour on Thursday afternoon.

A fire was reported to officials, and crews from Chezzetcook (Station 23) arrived and found four buildings ablaze: a home, a garage and two sheds, and the flames were starting to spread into the woods towards another shed.

Quickly firefighters from Cole Harbour (Station 17) and Musquodoboit Harbour (Station 24) arrived.

“This was a complex incident with multiple exposures, each presenting a high risk,” Halifax Professional Fire Fighters said in a post on social media.

Teams brought hoses towards the home, able to douse the flames and stop the spread into the woods, before tackling the other structures. Officials said that the fire was contained in “challenging conditions.”
