Bullets embedded in Lower Sackville home after shots rang out

Witnesses told police officers that they heard gunshots ring out in a Lower Sackville community earlier in the week.
Officers with the Halifax detachment of the RCMP responded to an area of Riverside Drive near Candlewood Lane on Oct. 15, after reports of shots being fired. They learned witnesses were walking when they heard what they believed were shots.
Police patrolled the area but could not find any evidence of a shooting scene or victims.
But later that day, another witness came forward and said they also heard gunshots around 1:00 a.m. on Wednesday. They told police they saw a black sedan speeding away from the 1500 block of Riverside Drive.
Mounties went out to the area and found a home with bullet holes. The people who live there were not injured.
The ongoing investigation is being led by the RCMP with help from the forensic identification section.
