Police have charged a man with breaking and entering into a business in Lower Sackville.
On Oct. 29 at roughly 12:39 a.m., officers responded to a commercial alarm in the 700 block of Sackville Drive.
According to RCMP, when officers arrived, nobody was there, but they found cash tills on the floor, the washroom ceiling had partially collapsed, the toilet was damaged, and articles of clothing had been left behind.
Police said the suspect hid themselves within in the ceiling and left after closing hours.
One of the business’s employees later reviewed surveillance footage and gave officers a picture of the suspect, who was then identified.
Later that morning, 48-year-old Scott Leslie Allan Best, of Halifax, was found and arrested.
Best has been charged with break and enter with intent, mischief not exceeding $5,000 and failing to comply with a release order.
He was scheduled to appear in provincial court on Nov. 12.
