21-year-old charged in ATV hit-and-run that caused serious injuries

Almost a year later, RCMP officers have tracked down a suspect who they believe was involved in a hit-and-run in Digby County.

In January 2024, at about 3 p.m., Mounties were called to reports of a crash between an ATV and a pickup truck on Patrice Road in Church Point. Police said the black GMC Sierra drove off.

The man on the ATV, a 49-year-old from Church Point, was rushed to hospital with serious injuries.

Earlier this month, police charged Zachary David Comeau, 21, of Meteghan Station. The accused is expected to appear in a Digby court at a later date.

He faces the charge of failure to stop after an accident resulting in bodily harm.
