Fourth youth charged for sexual offences following hockey hazing incident

Nova Scotia RCMP say a fourth youth has been arrested in connection with a hockey team’s hazing ritual last October.

Mounties said they were arrested on Thursday without incident and are facing charges of sexual assault and assault with choking.

This comes after police arrested three other youths after a youth victim reported being assaulted during a private gathering for a Truro area hockey team.

Police said they were charged with sexual assault with a weapon. One of the accused has also been charged with sexual assault and assault with a weapon, while another has been charged with sexual assault and assault with choking.

“We believe there may be other victims who’ve not yet come forward,” said S/Sgt. Rose, District Commander, Colchester County District RCMP.

“We understand that coming forward can be difficult. If there are others who’ve been harmed, we want them to know they’ll be heard, supported, and treated with respect. They can reach out to us safely and at a pace that feels right for them.”

Anyone with information is asked to contact RCMP or Crime Stoppers.
