Woman dies following suspicious fire in Halifax

Regional police say a woman has died following a suspicious fire last weekend.

Last Friday evening, emergency crews responded to the scene of a fire at an apartment building on Enid Avenue in Halifax, where one resident was inside the unit where the fire started. Police said another resident from another unit entered to help.

According to HRP, crews found two women inside the unit and they were taken to hospital with life-threatening injuries.

Then on Thursday, the 50-year-old woman who lived in the unit died from her injuries.

The Nova Scotia Medical Examiner Service is conducting an autopsy to determine the cause of death.

Police said they are investigating the circumstances around the fire as suspicious and anyone with information is asked to contact HRP or Crime Stoppers.
