Province offering cash reward for information on North Preston murder

The province says the murder of a man in North Preston last year has been added to its major unsolved crimes reward program.

Last November, police responded to a report of shots fired on Cain Street in North Preston, where several people were providing medical assistance to 28-year-old Jayden Tynes.

Paramedics took him to hospital, where he later died from his injuries.

The government said police believe some people may have information that has not yet come forward.

“If you know anything that hasn’t already been shared with police and could help with their investigation and lead to justice for Mr. Tynes and his family, I encourage you to speak up,” said Scott Armstrong, Attorney General and Minister of Justice. “Even details that seem insignificant could be the crucial evidence that police are missing.”

As a result, the province is now offering a reward of up to $150,000 for information leading to the arrest and conviction of the person or people responsible for his murder.
