Police still looking for answers in three-decade-old Dartmouth murder

It’s been 30 years since the murder of David Robert Boyko in Dartmouth, and police are still begging the public for help solving it — saying that someone knows something.

On May 12, 1996, police received a report of an injured man at the end of Morris Road in Burnside Industrial Park. Police said he was found by a pedestrian who had been walking in the area, adding Boyko had died from a gunshot wound.

He was a resident of Manitoba at the time, and was last seen at 6 a.m. the day he was killed.

Officials said they believe there are people who have information that could help solve his murder, and they are encouraging people to come forward with what they know.

Boyko’s case is part of the province’s major unsolved crimes program, which offers cash rewards of up to $150,000 for information leading to the arrest and conviction of people responsible for major unsolved crimes.

Anyone with information is asked to contact HRP.
