Flyby in honour of HMCS Sackville to take place in Halifax

The Royal Canadian Air Force will be conducting a flyby in Halifax on Friday as part of the ceremonial recommissioning of HMCS Sackville.

The ceremony is expected to take place at Sackville Landing in Halifax between 11 a.m. and noon.

The Department of National Defence said the flyby is meant to recognize the ship’s wartime service and legacy.

According to the department, the aircraft will be at an altitude no lower than 500 feet above the highest obstacle over ground level.

It went on to say the senior naval leadership, dignitaries and members of the public are expected to be in attendance.
