Dartmouth fundraising festival promises to bring Food for the Ears

A local music festival kicks off on Friday with an aim to raise money for Feed Nova Scotia
The Food for the Ears Festival will run through Saturday at the Alderney Landing in Dartmouth.
The event will feature many local artists, including the Public Service, Rankin MacInnis and the Broken Eeeds and the 2026 East Coast Music Association winner for release of the year, Elyse Aeryn, among others.
The launch marks the festival’s fourth year, after it was began in 2023 by then 16-year-old Ethan Chitty as a fundraising initiative for a food bank in Truro.
The first two years of the festival were held in Truro, raising $2,300 dollars in 2023 and $3,000 in 2024.
Organizers say they moved it to Halifax last year after officially registering as a non-profit and raising $3,500 for Fedd Nova Scotia.
According to the festival’s website, it hopes to raise over $8,000 this year.
The festival’s full lineup and tickets are available on its website, with 100 per cent of the proceeds going to Feed Nova Scotia.
