Three teens arrested after daytime break-ins at two Canadian Tire stores

Police in the Halifax area say an 18-year-old and two youths are facing charges after broad-daylight break-ins at two area Canadian Tire stores.
The first incident was reported to police on Friday just before 3 p.m., as staff at the Bayer’s Lake Canadian Tire told officers two males and a female entered the store, broke into a BB gun display, and made off with several items on foot.
The next day, police responded around 1:30 p.m. to the Canadian Tire on Lamont Terrace in Dartmouth. That time, the suspects – again two males and a female – failed to break into a BB gun case.
As they fled the store, the female allegedly sprayed a staff member with a sensory irritant.
The three were arrested at the scene by police, and the irritant believed to have been used to spray the worker was found by a K9 unit.
Police say Garik Johnny, 18, was in provincial court on Monday facing charges of robbery and disguise with intent.
The 16-year-old male and 14-year-old female were both in youth court Monday, facing several charges including robbery, theft, and weapon possession.
