Dartmouth home searched results in child sexual abuse charges

A man from Dartmouth is facing several charges after police searched a his home and found evidence of child abuse materials.
Starting in May, the internet child exploitation unit was informed that a man had material involving child sexual abuse, the release reads. From there police obtained a search warrant for the man’s house on Crystal Drive in Dartmouth.
Officers found electronic devices that they seized for forensic analysis.
As a result of the investigation, Adrian Rioux, 31, is expected in a court to face the offences of:
- Possession of child sexual abuse and exploitation material
- Accessing child sexual abuse and exploitation material
- Breach of probation order in relation to children (x2)
Police are encouraging anyone with information about materials of sexual abuse or exploitation to contact them.
