One dead after residential fire wreaks havoc on an Onslow Mountain property

One man has died following a residential fire which engulfed an entire home in Onslow Mountain on Branch Road.

On August 29 at approximately 12:40 p.m., Royal Canadian Mounted Police (RCMP) officers and other first responders responded to a fire at a property on Branch Road. They soon learned that while the house was ablaze, a man was believed to be inside.

After the fire was put out, they found the man’s remains.

Investigators from the Nova Scotia Office of the Fire Marshal and the Nova Scotia Medical Examiner Service are involved in the ongoing investigation. At this time, criminality is not believed to be a factor based on information and evidence gathered.
