Crash in Beaver Bank leads to impaired driving charges

Police responded to an early morning crash in Beaver Bank where the driver of the car was believed to be impaired.

It happened Sept. 6, around 1:40 a.m. Officers from the Halifax detachment went to the scene in the 1200 block of Beaver Bank Road. When they arrived, they found a damaged Honda Civic on the road, with a man behind the wheel.

An officer spoke to the 32-year-old who they believed was impaired. The man was given a roadside test which he failed, police relayed.

At the Lower Sackville RCMP detachment further tests by police concluded the man had a blood alcohol content of 130 mg per cent.

He was released and is scheduled to face impaired driving charges in a Dartmouth court.

“Everyone has a role to play in keeping our roads safe. Motorists who plan to consume alcohol or drugs need to arrange safe rides to their destinations,” the press release notes.
