Criminal harassment charges were laid against a man who is accused of following women into their apartment buildings, and in some instances, to their doors.
Regional police were told of three separate incidents on Sept. 10 and 11 where women said a man followed them into their building on Spring Garden Road.
In one of the incidents, the woman went up the elevator to her floor, but then re-entered the elevator without the man and went for help. Police also said a man followed another woman to her apartment unit, but then he left.
In the third situation, officials described how the man followed another woman to her unit and tried to go inside — he did not get in.
Police said that the same man was involved in the three incidents.
As a result, officials charged Pradeep Kuppala, 29, with:
- Criminal harassment (x3)
- Mischief (x2)
- Break and enter
Officers said that anyone who believes they are being followed or sees suspicious behaviour is asking to report it immediately by calling 902-490-5020.
