Lower Sackville woman charged in stolen truck chase

RCMP had to deploy a spike belt in order to stop a vehicle from driving away in Porter’s Lake.

The incident happened Sept. 23 around 10:45 p.m. Officers were told that a Ford F150 had been stolen from a driveway on Robinson Road in Lawrencetown. However, the owner told police there was a tracking device on the vehicle, showing it travelling near Cheviot Hills St. in Porters Lake.

RCMP said they tried to stop the truck, but the driver kept going. Using a tire deflation device, the Ford did continue but had to stop on Karen Cresecent. Officers found it abandoned on the residential street, but were able to search the area and found the woman.

Police say the suspect had stolen items from the truck in her possession.

As a result, a 24-year-old from Middle Sackville was arrested for property obtained by crime.

She’s expected in a Dartmouth court at a later date.
