Bear spray assault in Dartmouth

A woman is facing 2 charges including assault with a weapon after an incident in Dartmouth on Saturday.
At approximately 7:00 p.m., Halifax Regional Police responded to a physical disturbance in the 30-40 block of Joseph Young Street in Dartmouth.
Upon arrival, officers discovered a 34-year old woman who had been sprayed with bear spray.
A 27-year old woman was arrested at the scene and will face charges of assault with a weapon and possession of weapon for a dangerous purpose.
The suspect will appear in Dartmouth Provincial Court on October 27.
Both women were known to one another and the 34-year old woman was treated at the scene and released.
