CityNews Halifax, in partnership with the Dartmouth SPCA, brings you a regular feature highlighting a special pet that is in need of adoption.

Harley

Harley is a four-year-old amstaff mix (30 kg) suitable for adults only. No apartments or condos. No dog other dogs in the home.

Harley is a beautiful, exuberant girl looking for a specialized home with an experienced dog owner. A bit cautious at first but once bonded she will be a friend for life. She is extremely smart and eager to please those she trusts.

Harley came into our care through no fault of her own and is finding shelter life challenging as she is an anxious dog and finds it difficult to fully relax. I think if she could pick her new person they would be calm, patient living in a quite rural home and lots of time to help her ease into a new environment. Once Harley settles into her new home, an in-home dog trainer would be beneficial.

Harley is available for adoption from the Dartmouth SPCA. Interested in adopting? Please review our new adoption process here: https://www.novascotiaspca.ca/adoptionprocess/.

We are open to visitors If you are fully vaccinated (e.g. two doses + 14 days) with a COVID-19 vaccine, and not experiencing any symptoms. Please note there may be a slight delay in our website updating. Our hours of operation can be found here: https://www.novascotiaspca.ca/shelters/dartmouth-shelter/.

Not fully vaccinated? You may still adopt through an appointment only process, please follow the adoption process steps and wait for an assigned appointment time.
