Harley
Meet sweet Harley. This boy came into the Dartmouth SPCA back in early October 2021.
Harley was surrendered to the shelter when his owner could no longer care for him. It was discovered that he needed to be treated for urinary crystals and remain on a Urinary Diet, which can be purchased from your local vet clinic.
He has been spending some time in a foster home to monitor his litter box habits and make sure the diet is working well for him. He is doing well and has received the all clear for adoption (as long as he remains on the urinary diet for life).
Harley has made it clear that he prefers his foster home to the shelter environment, so he is still hanging out with his foster family until his forever family discovers him.
Here are some words from Harley, sent to us from his foster family:
"Hi, my name's Harley! Don't let my tough guy name give you the wrong impression, I'm really just a big ‘ole softy. I know with the 'rona a lot of you humans are still working from home and I want to let you know, I'm a great office mate. You'll never work too hard when I'm around because I'm a big advocate for head scratching breaks.
When you're done working and want to take a break I am an awesome video game cheerleader. Most of all, I'm an even better friend.
I will always want to chat and have in depth conversations about how awesome I am.
My ideal home would be with a quiet family and no other animals or small children.
I want my new family all to myself! Plus, I'm not into loud noises or a hectic lifestyle. That's why I'm going to be adopted from my foster home and not the shelter."
Since he is being adopted from the foster home, we ask that you submit an online cat application if you are interested in adopting and the Dartmouth Shelter staff will coordinate a meeting at the fosters home.
