FREDERICTON — Police in Fredericton have identified 29-year old Justin Leigh Finnemore of Fredericton as the victim of a homicide in the New Brunswick capital over the weekend.

Shortly after 4:30 a.m. on Saturday, police were called to the Dr. Everett Chalmers Regional Hospital where Finnemore had died after being shot.

Police say the vehicle involved in dropping Finnemore off at the hospital was located and stopped a short time later.

Several people were taken into custody at that time, and they have all since been released unconditionally.

Police do not believe this was a random shooting, however no charges have been laid and the investigation is ongoing.

Investigators are looking to speak with anyone who may have information about the crime.
