New Brunswick RCMP say 18-year-old man dies after shooting in Moncton

MONCTON, N.B. — New Brunswick RCMP say an 18-year-old man is dead after a shooting early Monday in Moncton, N.B.

RCMP spokesman Cpl. Hans Ouellette said in an interview today that police responded to an address on Logan Lane around 6:10 a.m.

Ouellette says a preliminary investigation has confirmed that shots were fired and an “individual was injured.”

He says an 18-year-old man was wounded and taken to hospital, where he died.

Ouellette says police believe the shooting was an isolated incident, and he says there is no risk to the general public.

He says the investigation is ongoing and that police are asking witnesses or anyone with information about the shooting to come forward.
