QMJHL Roundup: Sea Dogs beat Wildcats 5-3 to win 12th straight game

MONCTON, N.B. — William Dufour added to his league-leading point and goal totals with a marker and two assists as the Saint John Sea Dogs defeated the Moncton Wildcats 5-3 Saturday in the QMJHL, extending their win streak to 12 straight.

Dufour now has 112 points on the season, with 53 goals. His second assist of the game helped setup Sea Dogs (44-17-4) teammate Josh Lawrence’s game-winning goal at 14:07 of the third period.

His goal came on an empty-netter with less than two minutes to play in the game.

Vincent Filion recorded 37 saves for the Wildcats (27-30-7), who have now dropped their last two games.

Peter Reynolds scored twice for Saint John in the victory.

HALIFAX — Jordan Dumais scored or assisted on each of Halifax’s (36-28-2) five goals to lead the Mooseheads past Baie-Comeau (22-33-9). Dumais notched two goals and three assists as part of his five-point outing.

GATINEAU, Que. — Simon Pinard had a goal and an assist as Gatineau (36-15-13) doubled up on Blainville-Boisbriand (28-28-9) for its fourth straight victory. Trailing 2-1 entering the third period, the Olympiques scored three unanswered goals, including Pinard’s game winner at 11:18, to earn the victory.

HUSKIES 5 SAGUENEENS 1

ROUYN-NORANDA, Que — Daniil Bourash and Thomas Belzile each scored two goals as Rouyn-Noranda (27-32-5) cruised past Chicoutimi (27-33-5). Thomas Verdon scored the Huskies’ other goal in the victory.
