*************************
Effective later today, Public Health will begin once again contacting some close contacts by text, where that is an option. They will continue to reach out by phone to reach close contacts in some cases.

With case numbers increasing in Nova Scotia, this approach will allow timely notification of close contacts. Those who receive a text message will be advised that they have been identified as a close contact of someone who has COVID-19. They will be directed to follow instructions based on their vaccination status.

If the person is fully vaccinated, they will not need to self-isolate or be tested, unless they develop symptoms.

If they are not fully vaccinated, they must self-isolate, book a COVID-19 test immediately, and register for Daily Public Health Check-ins. They will also be provided with their end isolation date and further instructions.
