New Brunswick officials record one new COVID-19 death, 57 new cases

FREDERICTON — New Brunswick says another person has died due to COVID-19, bringing the number of disease-related deaths in the province to 112.

Health officials identified a person in their 90s from the Moncton region as the latest death attributed to the novel coronavirus.

Officials are also reporting 57 new infections for a total active case count of 533, as well as 44 new recoveries.

Thirty-three people are hospitalized due to the virus, including 15 in intensive care.

New Brunswick has also announced a new secure web portal, called MyHealthNB, that will allow residents to access their immunization records and COVID-19 test results to show proof of vaccination at businesses, services and events.

Officials say 84.3 per cent of eligible New Brunswickers are fully vaccinated while more than 92 per cent have received their first dose.
