What started as a weapons complaint ended with HRP ticketing 10 people for breaking the province's COVID-19 public health measures.

Halifax Police were called to Old Sambro Rd. on Sunday evening to reports of a man pointing a firearm.

A stretch of the road was shut down while police investigated.

In an update early Monday morning, police said no charges were laid but 10 people were ticketed for violating the gathering limit.

The tickets carry a fine of $2,000.

HRP handed out 37 tickets over the weekend.
