By Mark Hodgins

It's beginning to feel a lot like summer.

Thursday's balmy weather set a new record for the warmest May 12 on record.

Environment Canada reports Thursday's high at the Halifax Stanfield International Airport was 26.9 degrees, smashing the old record of 22.8 degrees set in 1953.

Temperatures not expected to be quite that warm Friday with a high of 22 in the forecast.

Saturday could see temperatures flirt with the record books again, forecast to reach 26 degrees.
