A couple of events are expected to cause traffic delays in some parts of the municipality this weekend.

The Emancipation Run, hosted by the Black Lives Matter In This Together Society, goes Saturday morning.

It's scheduled to start at the Black Cultural Centre on Cherry Brook Road, then travel down Cherry Brook Road to Loon Lake Road and finish back at the Black Cultural Centre on Cherry Brook Road.

HRM says to expect delays in those areas between 10 a.m. and 11:30 a.m.

The 47th Annual Eastern Passage Cow Bay Summer Carnival Street Parade also goes Saturday morning.

It starts on Caldwell Road near the Ocean View Continuing Care Centre, heads up to Cow Bay Road, then over to Main Road, finishing at the Royal Canadian Legion.

The parade is expected to impact traffic from 10 a.m. to noon.

Drivers are asked to use alternate routes to avoid delays in both areas.
