The province's current COVID-19 restrictions impact long-term care facilities, and a woman whose mother is living at Northwood says this time she's pleased with the rules public health has put in place.
The restrictions mean visitors are not allowed into the facilities, although volunteers and designated caregivers are.
Holly Crooks' mother lives at Northwood. Crooks said she's happy with the designated caregiver program that's been in place for about the past month.
She tells NEWS 95.7 she's happy the program is now up and running
"My mom, like many other people who experienced that initial lockdown, experienced significant, most likely irreversible physical and cognitive decline," Crooks said.
Crooks said while she's happy the program is happening at Northwood and Camphill, there are a number of smaller facilities that either shut down the program or never started it.
