RCMP in New Brunswick have charged a Pennsylvania man in connection with a crash that killed a Nova Scotia Mountie.

Const. Frank Deschenes died on September 12th along the Trans-Canada Highway in Memramcook, N.B. when a van collided with his police cruiser. He had pulled over to help change a flat tire.

Vasiliy Meshko, 31, from Wilkes-Barre, Pennsylvania has been charged with driving without due care and attention and failing to move over under the New Brunswick Motor Vehicle Act

Police say their investigation found there wasn't enough evidence for any charges under the Criminal Code of Canada.

RCMP say Meshko's lawyer represented him in Moncton Provincial Court Thursday where an adjournment was requested, he's expected to enter a plea Friday.
