Federal election day: What you need to know in Nova Scotia

By Mark Hodgins

Canada's first-ever pandemic election wraps up on Monday night, as Canadians go to the polls after a 36-day campaign.

The polls open in Nova Scotia at 8:30 a.m., and will be open for 12 hours until 8:30 p.m.

You can find your assigned polling station on your voter information card. If you're not registered, you can still do so at your polling station on election day. Check the Elections Canada website for that information.

You'll need to show a government ID, like a driver's license. There are other options including things like utility bills with your address on it. Here's a full list of accepted ID.

Pandemic restrictions are in place based on provincial mandates. In Nova Scotia you will be required to wear a mask at your polling station.

After the polls close tune into NEWS 95.7 tonight for Canada Votes 2021 for results from across the country.

Live results can also be found on our Canada Votes 2021 page.
