Former Saint Mary’s University groundskeeper facing more charges

A man charged with sexual assault last month is facing more charges from a separate incident involving a different victim.

The latest charges come after Halifax Regional Police say a woman contacted them on December 5th to report she had been sexually assaulted by a man she knew at an Armdale-area residence in early September.

Police arrested Matthew Albert Percy, 34, of Halifax at 9 p.m. on December 15 at a Birches Drive home.

He's been charged with one count each of sexual assault, choking to overcome resistance and voyeurism for allegedly videotaping the incident. He will be in Halifax Provincial Court Monday

The former Saint Mary's University groundskeeper has also been charged with sexual assault and voyeurism in connection with an alleged incident at a campus dormitory on Sept. 15.

He is expected to return to court in February after being released with conditions earlier this month.

Saint Mary's University has confirmed Percy is no longer an employee of the school.
